The King of Cakes - Austrian Sachertorte

The legendary Viennese classic: a rich, dense, and indulgent cake, perfect as an afternoon treat or elegant dessert. Made with dark chocolate and apricot jam, the classic specialty, which originates from the Hotel Sacher in Vienna, is traditionally served with fresh whipped cream.

My version is made with two ‘cuts’ (64% - 72%) from one of Europe’s finest chocolates, apricot jam mixed with a hint of Austian rum. And best served with a dash of whipped cream (‘Schlag’ as the Austrians call it).

Storage:

Keeps up to 2 weeks refrigerated. Cover only cut edges with plastic wrap. Bring to room temperature 10–15 minutes before serving.

Allergens: Wheat flour, Eggs, Milk, Rum.

4 1/4” - perfect fo one or two

8” - perfect for sharing with family and friends (ca. 10-12 slices)
